Three recordings of Hackney Marshes

15347162061_72af963e9e_kHackney Marshes are a brilliant place.  I especially like the Lea as it flows round the back of the football pitches between the Middlesex Filter Beds and the road bridge at the Olympic Park – it seems to take on a new wildness and life for a mile or so: bookended by still sections of polluted water.  The flow becomes fast and ruffled, there’s scores of streamer weed, with shoals of carp and bream lazily flexing inbetween.

Here’s three recordings I took on the marshes: two of football games on a Sunday afternoon, and another of a flock of parakeets in the woods which border the Lea and the marshes.
